Downtown office, hospital room, or your kitchen table — I'll meet you there.
I'm Jim Allen. I notarize at law offices downtown, title companies off Parkcenter, hospital rooms at St. Luke's and Saint Alphonsus, and plenty of kitchen tables in the North End — and I handle the apostille and FD-258 fingerprinting nobody else wants to explain to you. Most days I can be there the same day.

Why people call me instead
Three things a Boise mobile notary should get right
Anybody can stamp a page. What you're really paying for is your afternoon back and paperwork that doesn't bounce.
You keep your whole afternoon
No taking half a day off. No driving to the bank and getting turned away because their notary went to lunch. You tell me where you'll be and when, and I show up there — the kitchen table, the office, the nursing home, or your driveway if that's easier.
Most Boise appointments booked same day.
It goes through the first time
Rejected fingerprints, a missing initial, a will signed without the right witnesses — every one of those costs you weeks. I check the whole package before I leave, roll prints that get accepted, and tell you straight if something's wrong instead of stamping it and driving off.
Wills, trusts, POAs and loan packages checked page by page.
You stop guessing what's next
Most people who call me about an apostille have no idea whether they need state or federal, or what has to be notarized first. That's normal — it's a confusing process. I'll tell you the order it goes in, what it costs, and roughly how long it takes before you pay me a dime.

“I cannot say enough good things about Idaho Notary, Jim Allen.”
He did a fantastic job with my borrower. In fact, he went above and beyond the call of duty. I ran into some issues on my end, and he smoothed things over with the client and got the job done. Done well, actually. As an escrow officer I can highly recommend Jim and his company. Jim will always be my first call for closings in Idaho. Thank you again, Jim!

I had a last minute and urgent document that needed to be notarized and get an apostille by a tight deadline. Jim did everything on the same day! He was at my door 30 minutes after I called him. He was so quick that I was the unprepared client (documents not correct size, printing issues, etc. ). Jim was so patient with it all! Moreover, he reassured me that the documents will be completed before my deadline. Amazing service in knowledge, professionalism, and kindness. I highly recommend Jim and will go to him for any notarization and apostille documentation going forward.

And to my surprise- finding a truly experienced, professional & mobile notary was hard, let alone trying to schedule within a week for my shorter notice need. Jim made the process with him efficient via online scheduling & the use of text & email. Payment of a straightforward flat fee was appreciated too. Jim was clear & timely in communications, genuinely friendly & professional in his attire. I will gladly use him in the future & give him a "two thumbs up" recommendation (or should I say "two pens up"...? Hee hee. Boise notary questions I get every week
Do you come to downtown Boise offices?
All the time. Law firms, title and escrow offices, accounting firms, and more than one conference room I've been buzzed into. Tell me the building and the floor and I'll find the parking — that's my problem, not yours.
If your signer is the one travelling downtown, a lobby or a coffee shop works fine too. I've notarized in both.
What does it cost?
Mobile notary work is $95 to come to you, plus $5 per notarized signature anywhere in Ada and Canyon County. Outside those two counties I'll quote you a flat number before I go.
An Idaho apostille is $185 for the first document and $75 for each additional document on the same order. Fingerprinting starts at $125 plus $10 per FD-258 card. A full California background check is $349 all-inclusive for one applicant, and $299 for everyone after the first if you're doing it as a group. You'll know your number before I get in the truck.
Can you meet me at St. Luke's or Saint Alphonsus?
Yes, and it's a bigger part of my week than people expect. Hospital rooms, rehab floors, hospice, assisted living and memory care — I've signed in all of them.
One thing worth knowing before I come: the signer has to be awake, aware, and able to tell me in their own words what they're signing. I can't notarize for someone who's sedated or can't communicate, no matter who asks me to. If you're not sure, call me and describe the situation. I'll tell you straight whether it'll work before you pay for a trip.
I'm at a title company or law firm. Can you handle a full loan signing?
That's a large share of the 3,500 signings I've done. Full purchase and refinance packages, sellers, HELOCs, reverse mortgages, and the occasional 200-page stack that has to be back in overnight.
I scan-back the same day when you need it, I know which pages get initialled and which get dated, and I'll call you rather than guess if something in the package looks wrong. If you're an escrow officer looking for somebody reliable in Ada County, try me on one file.
How do I know you're legitimate?
Fair question, and you should ask it. I'm Jim Allen, I own Idaho Mobile Notary Signing Agent, LLC, I've been a commissioned Idaho notary public since 2018, and I'm bonded, insured and background screened.
You can verify my commission with the Idaho Secretary of State, I'll give you my commission number and expiration on request, and every call you make comes to my phone. A rule that protects you with me or anybody else: never mail original documents to somebody you haven't spoken to.
What do I need to have ready?
Three things. The documents still unsigned, valid unexpired photo ID for every person signing, and an idea of whether your document needs witnesses.
That last one catches people out. Wills and some trusts need two witnesses who aren't beneficiaries, and most families can't produce two on short notice. Tell me when you book and I'll sort it out before I arrive.
Can you notarize a will, trust, or power of attorney?
Yes. I'm a notary for estate planning documents and I do them constantly, including for Boise attorneys who hand me their client signings so their paralegal doesn't have to chase witnesses.
What I don't do is draft them or tell you what they should say — that's your attorney's job and I'm not a lawyer. What I do is run a calm, correct signing: right ID, right witnesses, every page checked before I leave.
Do I need a state apostille or a federal one?
Almost nobody knows, and it isn't your fault — the two look identical from the outside. Short version: anything issued in Idaho, like a birth certificate, a marriage licence or a document I notarize, goes through the Idaho Secretary of State here in Boise. Anything issued by the federal government, like an FBI background check, goes to the U.S. Department of State in Washington.
Send them down the wrong track and you lose weeks and the fee. Tell me what the document is and which country wants it, and I'll tell you which one you need before you spend anything.
I need fingerprints for a California licence but I live in Boise.
Yes, and it's the one that saves people the most grief. If you're licensed out of state, California usually tells you to travel there in person — or routes you to a mailed hard card that comes back rejected weeks later.
You don't need either. I capture your prints on my Live Scan system, then send them straight through to my California processor, who submits the background check. One appointment in Boise, no flight to California.
Can we just do it online?
Often, yes. I'm a commissioned Idaho Remote Online Notary, so we can meet by video, verify your ID and sign electronically. It's the right answer when you're out of state, overseas, or simply can't get everybody in one room.
Some documents still have to be wet-signed in person, and some receiving parties refuse electronic notarization even when Idaho allows it. Tell me what you've got and where it's going, and I'll tell you which way it has to go before we book.
How fast can you get to me in Boise?
Most days, same day. I take evening and weekend appointments on purpose, because that's when most people can actually sit down and read what they're signing.
If it's genuinely urgent — a hospital, a hospice, a deadline first thing in the morning — text me at (208) 826-1210. You'll get a straight yes or no about whether I can make it, not a callback tomorrow.
